About the Journal

Estudios Atacameños. (ISSN print version: 0716-0925; ISSN online version: 0718-1043) Published by the Instituto de Investigaciones Arqueológicas y Museo de la Universidad Católica del Norte, San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. It was created in 1973 by the R.P. Gustavo Le Paige s.j., and since then, it has maintained continuity in its publication. It receives original and unpublished contributions of scientific research on topics of archaeology, social anthropology, history and bioanthropology of the South American region. Contributions are accepted in Spanish and English and are evaluated by an Editorial Board composed of national and foreign editors, in addition to peer review by at least two external specialists. The journal regularly publishes two issues per year, and eventually, special issues are published. The journal is open access with no additional costs.
