Los trabajos arqueológicos de Bird (1938) y Montané (1968) entre el extremo sur y centro de Chile aportaron en épocas distantes la real potencialidad de los recursos arqueológicos paleoindios vinculados con los primeros poblamientos del cono sur de América.
